Helping improve livelihoods
Today, a staggering 836 million individuals still grapple with the harsh realities of extreme poverty. A significant portion of this population relies on small-scale farming as their primary source of sustenance. Regrettably, the absence of comprehensive knowledge regarding plant health and the lack of access to regional markets perpetuate a relentless cycle of poverty for these farmers. They are burdened with the relentless struggle of combating crop pests and complying with stringent food quality and safety standards.
In the pursuit of global progress, the world's 500 million smallholder farmers present an incredible opportunity. By facilitating the exchange of high-quality agricultural products on local, regional, and international scales, they hold the potential to uplift their own lives. To accomplish this, it is imperative to provide them with the knowledge and resources required to bolster their productivity, expand their market reach, and ultimately break free from the shackles of poverty. Collaboration and concerted efforts are paramount in realizing the noble objectives encapsulated in SDG 1: Eradicating Poverty.
